The short version

  • Our website chat asks only for your name, phone, email, the service you need, how you would like to meet and a good time. Nothing else.
  • Please do not send Social Security numbers, tax documents or account numbers through the chat, email or text. We collect those later through a secure method.
  • We use your information to answer you and set up your appointment. We never sell it.
  • Tax return information is used only to prepare and file your return, or as federal law allows, unless you give us signed written consent.
  • If you never become a client, we delete your chat request after two years. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

1. Who we are and what this covers

JV Tax & Business Consulting LLC (“JV Tax,” “we,” “us”) is a tax preparation, bookkeeping and business consulting firm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving clients in all 50 states.

This policy explains how we handle information you share through our website, the website chat, our online booking, and calls, emails, text messages or WhatsApp messages with us before you become a client.

Information collected automatically

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not use artificial intelligence in our website chat. It is a simple, scripted form.

3. Please do not send sensitive information

Please do not send Social Security numbers, tax returns, tax documents, bank or card numbers, or passwords through our website chat, regular email, text message or WhatsApp. If we need that information to serve you, we will collect it through a secure method after your engagement begins.

4. How we use your information

We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not send you marketing messages unless you separately agree to receive them, and you can stop them at any time.

5. Tax return information

Federal law (Internal Revenue Code sections 7216 and 6713) strictly limits how tax preparers may use and share information you give us to prepare your tax return, including information you share when you first contact us about tax preparation.

We use and share tax return information only to prepare and file your return, or as federal law otherwise permits. We will not use it for any other purpose, or share it with anyone else, unless you first give us a separate, signed written consent in the form federal rules require. You never have to give that consent to receive our tax services.

6. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted companies to run our website and appointments. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

CompanyWhat it does for us

7. Calls, emails, texts and WhatsApp

When you tick the consent box in our chat, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message or email about your request and appointment. These are service messages, not advertising.

We do not record calls or video meetings. If that ever changes, we will ask everyone on the call for permission first.

8. Cookies and website technology

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The robot check may use small, strictly necessary pieces of data to work. If we add website visitor statistics in the future, we will use a privacy-friendly tool that does not use tracking cookies and does not follow you across other websites, and we will update this policy.
